Elaine began her Yoga practice in 1992. Her personal experience of Yoga’s many benefits has led to her enthusiasm in sharing these with her students.

Elaine has over 1,000 hours of training recognized by Yoga Alliance. Various trainings with Integral Yoga at Satchidananda Ashram in Virginia have qualified her to teach Hatha Yoga at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels as well as Raja Yoga, the Royal Path, based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an ancient text which can help to bring Yoga philosophy to every aspect of daily life.  She has trained with and attended workshops with some of the world’s leading and most innovative Yoga instructors and has completed Advanced Teacher Training with Donna Farhi in New Zealand and Fluid-Power Vinyasa with Shiva Rea.  She has attended workshops with many teachers in a wide variety of styles.

Elaine has an interest in classical hatha asana, vinyasa flow and other newly emerging styles of Yoga, aspects of which she brings to her practice and to her teaching where appropriate. Her classes are both relaxing and calming but can also be challenging, depending on the interests and needs of her students at the time. She has experience in teaching a wide cross section of the community, especially seniors and she welcomes both beginners and experienced students.


Yoga and The Body Electric

In this workshop we will explore how Yoga affects the body’s energy system.

Using the earth’s energetic field to supercharge the crystalline matrix which is interwoven throughout our connective tissue. We begin to understand knowledge that yogi’s have handed down for millennia and view this in the light of cutting edge discoveries as scientists substantiate the The Body Electric.

Gentle Yoga

This class is for beginners or those who would enjoy a more restful yoga experience.   Slow, easy warm ups, simple standing and balancing poses followed by some calming stretches on the mat.  Guided relaxation and breathing practice will be included to enhance the healing benefits of this soothing session.
