Jaya Butler is passionate about helping others to gain an understanding of themselves and make changes for the better. She holds a deep belief that yoga is for everyone and that once we start learning the balance of ease and effort in the body, it spills over into everyday life; that life just gets better and easier.
Her yoga journey began in 1999 and she has since trained in the traditional Integral Yoga Hatha teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda, Romana’s Pilates (NYC), and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy for individuals and groups.
Jaya is actively involved in wellness programs as a nurse and yoga teacher in the Bermuda community and seeks to share with others what she has learned and gained personally in her own health. She believes that any fitness ability is a good place to begin.
Free Community Class sponsored by the Argus Group
The free Community Class, sponsored and inspired by the Argus Group, is designed for first-time beginners or those who have limited experience. It offers an opportunity for the broader community to come to the festival and experience what yoga is all about. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
With her warmth and humor, Jaya will introduce participants to warm-ups, basic yoga poses, yoga breathing techniques and a deep relaxation practice.
Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or towel, wear loose fitting clothes to allow for easy movement and not to eat 2 hours before class. Yoga mats will be available on loan.
Sign-in is required at the main registration desk 30 minutes before the class starts.
